There is an increasing trend to use social media for a variety of purposes, including language learning. These websites offer a large number of opportunities for language learners to interact with native speakers of the target language, and for teachers to create personalised, online environments for their students barder.

The emergence of social networking sites for language learning is an exciting development for both the academic community and learners themselves. It is also important to note that these sites can offer students a more engaging and enriched learning experience than a traditional textbook-based approach.
